Wah Y. Wong, PhD
Laboratory Director
Wah earned his PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Alberta and then completed a
fellowship in Medical Microbiology and Immunology with the Protein Engineering Network of
Centers of Excellence. He has extensive research experience in protein chemistry, bacterial
pathogenesis, vaccine and immunoassay development, and molecular biology. Wah was
awarded a Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada Industrial Fellowship that supported his work developing protein chip and related technologies as a research scientist at Sensium Technologies. Since then, he has been the Laboratory Director at Helix BioPharma Corp working on the company’s lead cancer therapeutic candidate, LDOS47.
